Green Life Project is a weekly series of posts highlighting one change for readers to make in their life in order to gradually green their lives.

I just spent a relaxing weekend in beautiful Holland, Michigan, and felt very inspired by both some of the gorgeous natural landscape I saw and the conversations I had with new friends.
Inspired to do what? Well, live a greener life.
Yeah, but that’s so very vague, and who isn’t trying to live greener?
Okay, I get it, we’re all in this together, and a great many of us are trying to do our part. But that’s why I am announcing a series of posts!
Here is yet another new series to look forward to here on Earthascope! This is the, “Green Life Project,” series.
What’s the point of this series?
Green Life Project posts will be published weekly and will concentrate on one tangible change you can make to your daily habits or purchases that will slowly introduce more environmentally sustainable practices into your life. It can be very difficult to change your lifestyle in one fell swoop, and it can feel overwhelming to think about changing so quickly.
On the other hand, it may feel so urgent to change to better practices, as if changing slowly is not really an option.
Point One
First, I would like to point out that it’s okay to move forward slowly on a change such as this. You may have just recently begun thinking about this or are re-inspired to begin making adjustments to the sustainability of your lifestyle. You will slowly adopt new, greener choices that will lead to others.
Point Two
Which brings me to my second point in this matter, that as you move forward, guides such as this series, while helpful, will not be necessary to guide you along the entire path. You will start to think of options on your own, as you become more aware of issues that affect the environment. Your perspective will change to an, “I know and therefore I can…” attitude, rather than a perspective marred by confusion and helplessness. The more your personal life becomes a model for a larger solution, the more you will be able to show others how we can all solve our looming environmental challenges.
Greener Options
So, with that, look out for weekly posts regarding a greener option you can adopt in your life. These tangible changes will include some small and even bigger aspects of your life that will make you feel more in control of the challenges we face, give you an empowered sensibility when you attempt to find the political and intellectual answers to the larger contributors to these problems, and leave us having transformed the simplest part of the problem into the biggest part of the solution: you.
